Female bus driver

I went to Sapporo last weekend for that I had something to do.
I took an intercity bus at JR Sapporo station to go back to Otaru as usual.

There are two bus companies, Chuo Bus and JR Bus, operating the route between Sapporo and Otaru. It was a JR bus I took then. When I got on the bus, I found that the driver was a woman.

Female taxi drivers are familiar, and I sometimes see female conductor in the JR train, which seems to have come into being just recently, but I have never seen female bus driver here in Hokkaido.

How cool a slender frame woman operates that large-sized bus!
I have unwittingly assumed that the occupation of train conductors and bus drivers belong to male world, but there is no reason that women cannot do the jobs.

I am so pleased to know that there are women who go in for the jobs that are usually considered for men, and I would like to appreciate JR Hokkaido opening the gate to women on this part of their services.
