The music emanating from Otaru: "Unicla" by Unicla

Unicla is the unit made up of Akiko Nagasaki (clarinet) and Ryoich Tobisawa (guitar). They are taking an active part of Otaru Soko No.1's live music performances. They released their first mini album in June 2006. The sound of clarinet in which pathos and comicality resides together, and the rhythm of guitar marking its footprint on American soil tempt the listeners to a strange land.

For more information, see the "Introduction of the PIRKAMUSIC label CD" page.

The following is the extract from the liner note on the album, which is approved to use by Pirka Music.

The use of the clarinet is somehow plaintive, and sometimes often sounds a little out of place. Having collected melodies that exploit the clarinet's unique character, the themes spontaneously emerge as Choro from Brazil and Musette from France.

Using our guest guitarist, Ryoichi Tobisawa who loves Brazilian music, we start a great voyage of music (!?) from Europe to South America. From now, to wherever are we drifting to...?

How about getting in touch with the ensemble by local musicians?

Price: ¥1,800 (including consumption tax)
