The other day Masa who is the landlord of Backpackers' Hostel Morinoki introduced a newly opened cafe near Suitengu Shinto Shrine in his facebook page.
The cafe looked quite cool from the images he uploaded, so I went there yesterday.
It was absolutely wonderful!
There are many cafes and restaurants that serve good food in Otaru, but few where you can also enjoy a nice view from.
It is also one of the rare cafes providing vegetarian menus in Otaru.
If you don't speak Japanese, you can order what you want as the couple running "cafe bloco" can communicate in English, and they have menu written in English.
They say that the night view when the ferry boat arrives in port is especially beautiful.
Please do visit "cafe bloco" when you visit Otaru.
I am sure you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea as well as good food.
Their web site: http://www.cafebloco.com
Please note that you have to take off your shoes in the cafe.
This is just a part of the wonderful view from the window.
Green looks very beautiful through the window.
My favorite red and white light houses can be seen, too.
I chose tacos(¥900) from lunch menu.
Other than tacos, a cup of soup, and soft drink are included.
On the way to the cafe, you can see the warehouse covered with ivy.
