We Shall Overcome

Who could imagine such a disaster like no other hit Japan only in a few weeks while we were thinking of the heartbroken people and collecting donations for Christchurch?

We just do nothing but stunned watching unreal scenes of Tsunami on TV.

It is an irony that the people in undamaged areas could find what has really happened, what's going on, and how devastated areas are like as time goes by, but afflicted people themselves have no means to find out any information with no electricity, no telecommunications, no persons to contact.

I am thinking of tremendous number of the sufferers. I have never met any of them, but they show me a lot of precious things.

Caring each other even in that most difficult situation by sharing scarce food, bearing the cold in the evacuation centers with no heating because of power cut. Warm spring in Tohoku district is still long way off.

The scale of the disaster was unprecedentedly big, but the number of undamaged people is overwhelmingly big, too.

I am sure that we will get over this difficulty by doing what each one can do continuously however small it might be for the reconstruction of devastated areas.

Tsunami

Very sad that the tsunami destroyed so many lives.

I pray for strength of the survivors to rebuild their lives

I hope your loved ones are alright

Tsunami

Thank you very much for your kind message, Mr. Lim.

Not only the devastated areas but many other people in the unaffected areas have been suffering the aftermath.

However, I think we have learned a lot of important things through this tragedy, and the Japanese are trying to support each other by doing what each one can do.

Hokkaido's tourism has been a downturn since the awful earthquake. I really hope tourists are not afraid of visiting Japan, for most areas are totally safe.
